Karolina Archacka – biolożka w Zakładzie Cytologii Wydziału Biologii UW. Prowadzi badania nad komórkami macierzystymi i regeneracją tkanek, a także szereg zajęć dydaktycznych dla studentów Wydziału Biologii UW. Popularyzatorka nauki, koordynatorka polskiej edycji Dnia Komórek Macierzystych (UniStem Day). Współautorka podręczników do nauczania biologii w szkole podstawowej i szkołach ponadgimnazjalnych oraz publikacji edukacyjnych.

 

Marek Jindra was born in Prague, where he graduated from Charles University. After postdoctoral studies at the University of Washington, Seattle, and at the National Institute of Genetics in Japan, he assumed a group leader position at the Biology Center of the Czech Academy of Sciences in South Bohemia; he also worked at CSIRO in Australia. Marek focuses on how hormones and their receptors direct insect development and regulate physiology and immune response. He also develops new compounds with juvenile hormone activity for selective and environmentally friendly control of insect pests.
